About Calvary
Jesus
Do you want a relationship with God?
The good news: You can be a friend of God! He wants you to know Him because He has loved you since before you were born.
The bad news: You and I, like all other humans, have a problem. We are sinners by nature and by choice (Romans 3:23). Sin separates us from God. The Bible tells us that our sin has earned us death (Romans 6:23). Still, God loved us and sent His Son Jesus to die in our place (Romans 5:8). He did this so that we could bring Him glory by having our sins forgiven, our lives transformed and one day live with Him for eternity (Romans 10:9).
Our desire is for you to have a personal relationship with God. Salvation is a personal relationship between you and God beginning with committed faith. Only you can decide. If you want Jesus as your Lord and Savior, simply confess that desire through prayer. You may choose to pray a prayer like this one:
Dear God, I know that Jesus is Your Son and that He died on the cross and was raised from the dead. I know I have sinned and need forgiveness. I am willing to turn from my sin and begin following Jesus as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
If you have placed all your trust for this life and for eternity in Jesus, please contact Calvary Baptist Church either by e-mail, phone or a personal visit this Sunday. We want to rejoice with you and help you as you begin your new life in Jesus Christ.

About Us
A little of our history. . .
In 1952 Calvary began as a mission of First Baptist Church of Batesville, MS. There were 40 charter members who began this family meeting on Stage Coach Road. Various building projects, including a new auditorium, educational building and a Pastor’s home were completed as they grew together.
The church met in these facilities until 1993, when they sold the entire property after purchasing 8 acres on Keating Road across town. Meeting in various locations including the local theater for 17 months, the church built a new facility that met the needs of this growing congregation.

However, on April 20, 2003, the building was struck by lightning and was completely destroyed by fire. For over 2 years Calvary continued to thrive in spite of the obstacles of meeting in multiple locations.
On December 18, 2005, the Calvary Family met for the first time in its current facility back on Keating Road. The family known as Calvary Baptist Church continues to thrive as “…a growing family devoted to maturing in love for Jesus Christ as we reach out to our community and world with the Gospel.”
