Our Leadership

Dr. Paul Middleton, Pastor

The greatest encounter of my life occurred in 1987 and changed me forever. Alone in my bedroom, I found myself with questions, doubts, and fears I could not ignore. I was an empty shell searching for security, purpose, and meaning. That summer night I cried, “Jesus, I can keep on living the way I am living and be miserable, or I can give my life to You.” What grace He gave as I yielded my life completely to Him. My life since has been completely different. Jesus has changed my life and better yet, changed my eternity! This remarkable change wrought by the intimate and powerful love of Jesus is now the message of my life. What Jesus did for me, He can do for anyone. This life-altering love of God is the theme of our celebrative worship at Calvary. If you would like to know more about the Life, Love, and Forgiveness of Jesus that can make a difference in your living and dying, please contact us.

Dr. Chuck Waller
Minister of Worship

The Music Ministry at Calvary Baptist Church is one that is focused on using the talents we have been given to better serve Christ. We strive to seek and worship Him in every aspect of the music ministry. In everything we do, whether solo, choir specials, or just worshipping corporately, we do it for Him. We have involvement for any age. Our Worship Choir leads in the service each Sunday morning and the Children’s Choir presents many programs throughout the year. We would love to have more people join these groups. We recently began two praise teams and a quartet that will lead in different worship services at different times. We would be happy to have you join us in any of these groups or just worship with us each week.

Mr. Nick Robertson

Hey there! I am so excited to be able to join Calvary Baptist Church and looking forward to what God is going to do in the life of the students! I graduated from Mississippi State University in 2018 with a degree in Business Marketing. I then packed up my bags and moved to New Orleans, LA where I was an auto damage adjuster for GEICO Insurance. While in New Orleans, I served at a local church plant for two and a half years. I felt the presence of God calling me to serve in youth ministry a while back in my life and I ran from it trying to find anything else to do with my life. After running for some time, I gave up my running and told God that I would follow him wherever he sends. Next thing I knew, I was packing my bags and moving to Batesville, MS.

I am excited to see the students here at Calvary grow closer to God through bible studies, corporate worship, and discipleship. My prayer is that every student who enters into our church building leaves knowing they are loved by a Heavenly Father who sent Jesus to this earth to die for their sins then rose again 3 days later, defeating death, so that they may spend eternity in Heaven with Him.

Mrs. Robbie Cook
Minister to Children

I am a native of Batesville and consider this community my mission field. Serving as the Minister to Children for the past five years and working for the South Panola School District for the past 18 years has presented me with the opportunity to be a light for Jesus. My goal is to immerse children in God’s Word, teach them how to pray and worship, and support their families in their commitment to facilitate spiritual growth. Our mission at Calvary is to grow young champions for Christ through engaging activities.

Ms. Shannon McCullough
Ministry Assistant

I have been an active member of the Calvary family since 2005 and have the amazing honor to serve as the ministry assistant here. I am a native to Batesville and came to know Christ at a young age.

God continues to work on me, in me and through me as He continues to grow me and my relationship with Him. I firmly believe that all things are possible through Him as I am living testimony to the power of prayer. I have been blessed beyond measure because I am a cancer survivor, twice now.

Calvary is like a second home for me and I serve willingly with our Prayer team, Children’s Ministry, and Puppet and Drama team. As the 2nd & 3rd grade Sunday School teacher, I encourage all our little ones to become sparks in the dark and shine bright for Jesus!
